Jae Mather brings over 25 years of experience as a driving force behind the cleantech and environmental agenda across Europe, the UK, and Canada. As Chief Innovation Officer at ClimateDoor, he leads transformative projects, including serving as senior consultant for the LCBA EU Phase 2 project.
Previously, Jae was the Executive Director of the Clean Energy Association of British Columbia, where he facilitated reconciliation initiatives with 15 First Nations in BC through renewable energy projects. He also authored the 2023 EU Study on regulatory incentives for low-carbon and circular economy solutions in Canada and spearheaded the first EU Critical Resource Materials (CRM) mission to Canada in 2024.
Jae’s leadership extends back to 2005 when he led the first EU-funded environmental technology support program (Interreg 3) in the UK. He is also the CEO & Co-founder of the Carbon Free Group, a sustainability incubator responsible for pioneering projects such as the UK’s first passive house, the first zero-carbon building, and the Rural Transition Alliance Programme, which aids developers in meeting Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) targets and supports farmers in transitioning to Net Zero.
