Aslan Renewables
About
Aslan Renewables is a modular hydro company based in Prince Edward Island developing modern hydro systems designed to reactivate existing water infrastructure. As the company prepared to scale into British Columbia, it needed a clearer commercialization strategy for a market with a distinct utility, regulatory, and partnership landscape.

ClimateDoor helped Aslan Renewables build a practical entry strategy for British Columbia, align with local funding pathways, and structure a partnership approach for Indigenous economic development engagement.

Andrew Murray
Founder & CEO
Aslan Renewables was entering British Columbia with a complex utility environment led by BC Hydro, a fragmented non-dilutive funding landscape, and a need for a thoughtful First Nations partnership strategy. The company also needed clear materials that could communicate its hydro reactivation opportunity to Indigenous economic development corporations.
ClimateDoor built Aslan's BC market entry playbook from the ground up, mapping the provincial utility and regulatory landscape, identifying non-dilutive funding pathways, and developing a First Nations partnership strategy centered on Indigenous economic development corporations. ClimateDoor assembled an expert roundtable through its ambassador network, including the former head of Clean Energy BC, supported grant applications, conducted outreach to 100 stranded dam opportunities across Canada, and opened conversations with BC Hydro, TELUS, and multiple First Nations across British Columbia.
Aslan moved from early BC ambition to a more executable market entry path with a stronger partnership strategy, more credible regional positioning, and a live set of relationships and opportunities to advance as technology readiness matures.
