VANCOUVER, BC -- April 27, 2026 -- ClimateDoor and Vancouver Impact today announced the return of Climate Global 2026, taking place May 12 at UBC Robson Square. The event runs alongside Web Summit Vancouver and is designed to move Canadian climate tech past the pitch stage and into commercial outcomes.
Now in its second year, Climate Global is structured around two tracks: Launch, for Canadian ventures scaling into global markets, and Land, for international ventures using Canada as their North American entry point. A reverse pitch session flips the format, with investors and corporate buyers pitching their needs directly to founders.
The 2026 program features confirmed speakers including Katrina Shum (ChopValue), Edward Chiang (Moment Energy), Sean Lowrie (ARCA), Ajay Bawa (Thiozen), Jacquie Griffiths (Invest Vancouver), and Sam Hasty (Active Impact Investments). Panels are moderated by Kookai Chaimahawong (UBC Sauder Centre for Climate and Business Solutions) and Justin Reist (Climate Tech Canada).
The event expects more than 300 attendees, including international delegations from the EU, Korea, Japan, and Latin America, and consulate representation from at least five countries. The 2025 event drew 253 attendees with a 96 percent satisfaction rating.
"Canadian innovators have a narrow window to convert global attention into commercial outcomes, especially in energy and climate tech," said Jamie Moran, Chief Growth Officer at ClimateDoor. "We built Climate Global to put Canadian ventures on the global stage and make it accessible to anyone who wanted to be in the room. Investors, founders, policymakers, and international delegations in one place -- that's how you turn a moment into deals."
"The ambition of Climate Global is to build a global network of climate tech innovators," said Hiroki Kudo, founder of Vancouver Impact. "Climate change is not a Canadian issue — it is a global one. A solution that doesn't fit one region may be a perfect match in another. If we join forces across borders, we can accomplish far more. We want startups, investors, academia, and government to share knowledge and collaborate to meet one of the defining challenges of our time."
Sponsors include the Brazilian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, GetFresh Ventures, Invest Vancouver, JETRO, MistyWest, Stardust Solar, TreeWalk, Invest HK, Henrik Beverage Systems, and SASA. NorthX and Foresight are also engaged in the event, as well as representatives from international venture capital funds, and Canadian and international trade commissions.
