VANCOUVER, BC, August 4, 2026 — ClimateDoor, a Vancouver-based climate venture commercialization firm, today announced it has acquired Standard Demand Partners (SDP), a New York capital advisory firm built for the energy transition. SDP's co-founders, Conor Wilmot and Liam Howe, join ClimateDoor's partner team. No part of the SDP brand will continue, and the two firms now operate as one company across Canada and the United States.
The acquisition reflects a thesis ClimateDoor has held since it was founded: climate companies rarely stall just on technology. The majority stall on commercialization and capital. ClimateDoor was built to close the pilot-to-commercial gap, embedding as an extension of the commercial team to drive customers, capital, and market entry. Standard Demand Partners was built for the capital side, working at the later stages of a company's journey across project finance, institutional investors, and the large raises that get infrastructure built.
Together, the two firms have supported more than 150 companies and facilitated close to $700 million in capital across grants, venture and growth equity, and project finance. On its own, ClimateDoor has supported more than 100 ventures, mobilized $82M+ in venture capital, and secured $17M+ in non-dilutive grants. Standard Demand Partners has supported 50+ companies and facilitated $600M+ in capital commitments across project finance and early to growth stage equity, backed by an institutional investor network concentrated on the United States side of the border.
For clients, the change means continuity and reach. A founder who comes to ClimateDoor at the seed stage can now stay with one partner through a later raise and into project finance, without rebuilding capital relationships at every stage. The acquisition also adds another node to ClimateDoor's global network, alongside subsidiaries and associates in Singapore, Europe, Brazil, and Kenya, and connects two investor networks that had little overlap before. It strengthens ClimateDoor's work alongside First Nations as co-developers and anchor customers on clean energy and infrastructure projects.
"We have said for years that the hardest part of building a climate company is rarely just the science. It is navigating the entire commercialization journey starting with customers, partners and capital," said Chad Rickaby, CEO of ClimateDoor. "Conor and Liam built Standard Demand Partners to solve the capital side with real institutional depth. Bringing their team in means a founder can go from first revenue through to project finance without leaving our side, and it completes the offering we have been building toward."
"Every venture we work with eventually hits the same wall: the round gets bigger, the buyers get more institutional, and the relationships that got them to first revenue are not the ones that get infrastructure financed," said Nick Findler, Co-Founder and Chief Venture Officer of ClimateDoor. "Conor and Liam bring exactly that layer. Our portfolio companies now have a path from first customer to project finance inside one firm."
"Over the next five to ten years, Conor and I want to commercialize as many of the best clean technology and energy transition businesses as we can, make the largest impact we can, and deliver strong outcomes for everyone involved," said Liam Howe, Co-Founder of Standard Demand Partners. "ClimateDoor built its practice on the same belief and has earned a brand that founders and investors trust. Joining forces gives that ambition the reach it needs.
